Two-Finger Gesture Eraser/Lasso
Table of Contents
Constantly switching between pen and eraser/lasso on the toolbar can be cumbersome and slow down the flow of writing or sketching. This is where the gesture eraser/lasso comes in handy.
In this article, we will assume you are in the right-handed mode and that your two-finger gesture is set to activate the eraser.
Effective areas for the two-finge gesture
Understanding where the gesture works best is key to activating the eraser/lasso reliably.
Absolute effective area
When you place your two fingers in the top-left corner or bottom-left corner of the screen (top-right corner and bottom-right corner when in left-handed mode), the gesture will always be activated, provided that you don't place your pen in the same corner as your two fingers.

General effective area
When you position your two fingers to the left of the pen, ensuring they are not too close to it (as shown in the image below), you can reliably activate the eraser gesture. In theory, when you move your pen further to the right across the screen, the general effective area increases, allowing for more flexibility in gesture activation.

How to use the two-finger gesture?
- Press and hold two fingers of your non-dominant hand on the screen.
- Circle the handwritten text you wish to erase with pen.

- When you have finished erasing the content, move the two fingers off the screen to return to the last selected tool you were using.

Tips for reliably activating the two-finger gesture
- Place your two fingers on the screen first, and then your pen.
- When using the gesture eraser, please keep your fingers steady at a proper distance, not too close or too far apart. Suggested distance ranges from 10mm to 55mm.
- The time interval between two fingers touching the screen does not exceed 200 milliseconds.
- Refrain from moving your two fingers after the gesture is activated.

Note: The effective angle range varies depending on your pen-holding posture. Placing two fingers on the screen far away from the pen can keep them from being in the invalid area and more easily activates the gesture eraser.
The gesture eraser is available in Note, Document, Calendar and Digest. To configure this gesture, go to Settings > Display & Input > Gestures > Eraser & Lasso Preferences.
