You can set up a screen lock to offer your device an extra layer of security and create passwords for your important files to protect your privacy.

How to set screen lock?

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Settings icon in the top menu bar.
  2. Tap Security & Privacy.
  3. Toggle on Screen Lock Password.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter a six-digit password and re-enter to confirm it.

Each time you turn on your Supernote device or wake up the screen, you will then be asked to unlock the screen with the password.

If you want to change or disable the screen lock password, simply tap Change Screen Lock Password or toggle off Screen Lock Password and enter the password(s) as needed.

How to password-protect files?

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Settings icon in the top menu bar.
  2. Tap Security & Privacy.
  3. Toggle on File Password.
  4. Enter a password that consists of 4-16 alphanumeric characters and re-enter to confirm it.

An example of a strong password is W$#@1s4, containing upper and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.

Special characters, such as \/:*?"<>|], cannot be included in the file passwords, which are case sensitive.

After you've set up a password, you can then choose to password-protect a folder or a specific file by long pressing the folder or file before tapping Lock.

Note: When you don't remember the screen lock password or file password, tap Forgot password? on the screen to reset it.

Why set screen lock?

With Supernote's screen lock feature, you can be assured of high-level security that will keep your Supernote safe from prying eyes and prevent unauthorized access to your personal data. If you are worried about carrying your Supernote in public, this feature provides a sense of security that will put your mind at ease.

Even in the unfortunate circumstance that you lose or have your Supernote stolen, your valuable data and files will remain protected by the password you selected and cannot be viewed by unauthorized individuals.

Note: For the sake of security, USB connections are not allowed when your Supernote is locked.

Why password-protect files?

With file passwords, you can add an extra level of security to your personal data and files, which helps to minimize the risk of unauthorized access. For those who may have forgotten to set a screen lock on their Supernote, it's reassuring to know that even if it falls into the wrong hands, any files with passwords will still remain secure.

It is worth noting that the file passwords are exclusive to your Supernote and will not work on any other device. For instance, if you transfer the locked files vis USB to another device of yours, the password locks will not be preserved, meaning the locked files can be opened without the need to enter the passwords.
