In this article you'll learn how to use the new sidebar to boost productivity and streamline your workflow.

With the software update release of Chauvet 2.6.19, we've made a few changes to the sidebar according to user feedback.

Quickly creating a new note

Slide down from the right sidebar to open the sidebar menu. In the top right corner, tap New Note to quickly create a standard note or real-time recognition note.

Switching between last opened note and last opened document

Quickly switching between notes and documents is an essential feature. There is a shortcut in place that allows you to do just that. Tapping the Last Opened Note or Last Opened Document button enables you to make the switch between notes and documents at once.

Accessing recent files

Tap the Recent Files button in the top left corner of the sidebar menu to open the popup window and acccess your recently viewed files.

Quick Access

You can add up to 8 items to the Quick Access list, whether it be specified pages, notes/documents or folders. Simply navigate to the toolbar in a note/document and tap the Quick Access icon to start adding a specified page or note/document you need to open and view quickly. To add a folder to Quick Access, long press the folder and then tap the Quick Access icon that appears on the top function bar.

App section at the bottom

Your frequently used apps, such as Mail, Calendar and Digest, can be displayed at the bottom section of the Sidebar menu.  You can customize how it looks by going to Settings > Apps > Customize Sidebar. This section has enough space for up to 8 apps. Once there are more than 8 apps, it will be expanded to a full page(s) to display the additional apps.
