Using Contents, Bookmarks and Annotations in Documents
Table of Contents
As an elegant digital note-taking tablet, Supernote offers a distraction-free and immersive reading experience by allowing users to read EPUB/PDF books or documents effectively with the help of contents, bookmarks and annotations.
Contents
Contents, also known as table of contents, provide an overview of the document divided in chapters, as well as an easy way to quickly jump to a specific section in the document.
To access a table of contents, please follow the steps below:
- Open an EPUB/PDF document.
- Navigate to the toolbar and tap .
- Tap anywhere in the table of contents to quickly jump to a specific section.
Note: If the original document doesn't contain a table of contents or has one that cannot be accessed, the Contents page will be blank.
Create, edit and delete bookmarks
Bookmarks are useful in allowing you to quickly find your favorite and frequently visited pages . Learn how you can make the most of them.
Add a bookmark
- Open an EPUB/PDF document.
- Navigate to the page you want to bookmark.
- Tap the Bookmark icon on the toolbar.
- Tap Done in the Bookmark Added popup box.
Edit a bookmark
- Tap the Navigation Window icon on the toolbar.
- Tap the Bookmarks tab.
- Tap the Edit icon .
- Enter a new name before tapping Done.
Note: In documents (excluding WORD), the Navigation Window and the Contents share the same icon.
Remove a bookmark
- From the Navigation Window
- Tap the Bookmarks tab.
- Under the Bookmarks tab, tap the cross symbol to the right of the bookmark you want to delete.
- From the toolbar
- Under the Bookmarks tab, tap a bookmark to jump to a specific page.
- Tap on the toolbar to remove the bookmark.
Add, erase and export annotations
The ability to mark up an EPUB/PDF document with great ease helps create a enjoyable and effective reading experience. It also makes collaboration so much easier as it allows you to provide feedback directly on the document.
Add annotations
- Open an EPUB/PDF document.
- Handwrite notes or draw marks anywhere you deem fit in the document.
Erase annotations
- From the Navigation Window
- Tap the Annotations icon .
- Long press a page to erase annotations on it.
- Tap the Erase Annotation button that shows up at the top of the screen.
- Tap Erase.
- With erasers
If you don't need to delete all the annotations on a page, you can use the Regular Eraser and Region Eraser on the toolbar to erase the annotations you wish to delete. Or you can use the Erase All button on the toolbar to erase all the annotations on the page at once.
Export annotations
To see annotations applied to the PDF document, you need to export them.
- Tap the three-dot More menu on the toolbar.
- Tap Export.
- Select a handwriting type: original or vector handwriting.
- Select a handwriting color: original grayscale (the same color as you wrote it in), blue or red.
- Select pages you want to export.
Note: The Keywords capability in documents work pretty much the same as it does in notes. Therefore, we won't elaborate on it much here.
